There
is a reason there are so many reviews from brides on here about the exceptional
quality of Bahia del Sol. My new hubby and I just got back from our Costa Rican
wedding, which we held here (of course!). I would not have had it any other
way. We were greeted with incredible warmth and throughout our stay, the hotel
made every effort to make sure we were happy. We felt like rock stars. ;)
The hotel is just beautiful--small, so it feels intimate, especially if you are
coming with a group like we did. My dad has some medical issues and the staff
treated him with the utmost respect and went out of their way to help him. All
of our guests were blown away by how nice everyone was, how beautiful the hotel
and grounds were, and how incredible the food was.
Bahia made our wedding, and our stay, something so memorable, I would not
hesitate to recommend this to any would-be brides, or just visitors looking for
an incredible place to stay.
The grounds are beautiful--there is a garden with walking paths in the middle
of the hotel, which is home to countless little red crabs who go scurrying when
you walk by. My dad spent hours watching them. We stayed in the King Suite,
which is the only room with an "ocean view" and it was perfection. We
fell asleep to the sound of the ocean every night--what more can you ask? All
the rooms have hammocks, which we (and all of our guests) loved to lounge in.
We loved the hotel´s decorations/design so much, we are using our room as
inspiration for redoing our master bedroom. :)
I read some complaints that the beach is "ugly" and the sand not
white enough. I have to say, I thought the beach was perfect. No, the sand is
not white, but I didn´t care on my wedding day, or now. The pictures turned out
beautiful, the beach was clean, and we practically had the whole place to ourselves.
I wouldn´t have changed a thing.
As for the location, Flamingo is a short drive away, as is Brasilito. Our first
night, we walked up the road from the hotel to a place called The Shack, which
had decent pizza and beer (and two friendly cats). Our friends also tried out a
restaurant that was right across the street and loved it. And of course, the
food at Bahia is just amazing.
Thank you Bahia, for your amazing hotel, wonderful and attentive staff, and for
making our stay such a memorable and happy experience!!
